Questions and answers
Everything travellers usually ask before their first trip to Kyrgyzstan.
Prices and booking
Why are there no prices on the website?
Every trip is private, so the price depends on how many of you travel, your dates, the vehicle and where you sleep. Send an enquiry and we'll reply with a personal quote, usually within a day.
How do I book a tour?
Send an enquiry from any tour page or message us on WhatsApp. We'll confirm the route, dates and price with you, then explain how payment works for your trip.
Can you change a tour or plan one from scratch?
Yes. Every route can be shortened, extended or combined with another. Choose "Custom trip" in the enquiry form and tell us what you have in mind.

Do I need a visa?
Citizens of many countries, including the EU, the UK, the USA, Canada and Australia, can visit visa-free for up to 60 days. Rules change, so check the current requirements for your passport before you book flights.
When is the best time to visit?
June to mid-September for the high lakes, passes and yurt camps. May and October are good for lower routes around Issyk-Kul. Winter trips are possible on request.
On the road
How high do the routes go?
Passes reach 3,000–3,600 m and some nights are spent close to 3,000 m. Each tour page shows the altitude of every overnight and pass, and we gain height gradually.
What vehicles do you use?
Toyota Land Cruisers or similar high-clearance 4×4s with experienced local drivers. Up to three travellers ride in each vehicle so everyone gets a window.
What is it like to sleep in a yurt?
Warmer and more comfortable than most people expect: real beds, thick felt walls and plenty of blankets. Toilets are shared and outside, and showers are basic or unavailable at the highest camps.
Can you cater for vegetarians and allergies?
Yes. Tell us in your enquiry and we'll let every guesthouse and yurt camp know in advance.
Are your tours suitable for children?
Yes. The Issyk-Kul Family Circuit is made for families, and we can slow down any route with shorter driving days.
