Altyn-Arashan, the Golden Spa, is a high valley above Karakol reached by a rough track that only proper 4×4s and horses manage. Natural hot springs feed small bath houses, and the valley opens up to a view of Palatka peak at over 5,000 metres.

Don't miss

  • Rough 4×4 track through spruce forest
